First load of horses to the new location

Peanut and Miracle.  Miracle is happy to be out of his
stall - or mini "time out" since he was slipping through the fence
for the greener grass.

Today Buddy, Alex, Dandy, Miracle and Peanut cruised to Roland in ol' blue.  They loved the new pasture with a run-in shed and lots of posts to scratch on.  Their neighbors, the Strum's horses, across the drive were delighted to have visitors.  Our gang settled right in.  Then they saw the calves.  Our "cow pony", Buddy snorted the most.  The minis pretty much checked them out and then forgot about them.  The calves were still staring at our herd when we drove away.
Dani, Jen and I spent a few minutes digging through the moved boxes, tubs, crates, and barrels and started setting up.  Jen and I plan to spend some time there tomorrow if anyone would like to join us.
We had to compliment the owners on their wonderful design.  The facilities are so easy to work in, so clean, and so spacious.

Vols - start checking in.  I have shifts set up.  I will get them on the calender soon.  Can't wait to ride! Kris

Alex and Buddy at the new location - the other horses are thinking this is a play date!

We Did It!

Here is my post for the move.  I put in lots of pictures but I can only
find the captions.  Katie may have to fix this if it doesn't work....   Kris.
Step 1 - Disassemble

Well, it didn't rain and it didn't really shine and it was plenty chilly for 9am - but what a wonderful day!  Thanks, Sherry L. for getting us off to a good start with donuts, juice and milk.  The wonderful One Heart Vols came to help.  Everything had to be disassembled, taken out, loaded into some form of conveince, driven to the new barn, and unloaded.  Following a grab n' go lunch of pizza, the crew was dispatched to the Lager house for more One Heart stuff; essentials such as harness, saddles, surcingles, etc.
Eileen took one look at the inside of the hoop barn and decided she needed to bring a bigger trailer.  Good thing!   All tolled, we had 21 people, 5 trucks, and 3 big trailers (and some trunks) packed for the trip from Stagecoach.  Super duper thanks to Eileen and Mark, Laura, Carla and David, Jen's mom and dad, Khrystal (a brand new volunteer!), Jordan, Katie, of course, Kelly, Gaila, Peggy, Benn Anna, Ania, Tess and Hannah.  There was also mystery vol #1 and mystery vol #2 - young ladies so bundled up and so busy I didn't get a chance to figure out who they were (please let us know!!)

Disassembling the Lift

Friday, March 25, 2011

This is yesterday - Peanut and 22 year old Alex "rarin' to go" to the new barn!   I hope you are just as ready!
TOMORROW,  SATURDAY, MARCH 26 is the big day.  Meet at Stagecoach at 9 AM.   We will disassemble the ramp and lift, load carts, carriages, stuff, misc. and etc. and head off to the new barn.  When that stuff is moved, a crew will be dispatched to the Lager house to get the saddles, harnesses and other goodies for the trip to Roland.    Remeber your gloves, friends, trucks, and trailers.  Also, it looks like we will need our Iowa "spring" weather gear.
Tomorrow will be our day to find out where the closest pizza is to the new place :):):)
Truck on!  Kris

3) You get an email of the blog post on late Wednesday night/early Thursday  morning.

Thanks!

Hi Eager Volunteers!
Can you help us Pack?
The day is nearing - Saturday, March 26th - the BIG DAY,  rain or shine.    We will meet at the hoop barn at Stagecoach  at 9:00 AM.   We will load gates, ramp, carts, lift, tables, stuff, misc. and etc.   Once loaded, off we go to the new barn.    If you can't meet up at 9, join us when you can.  Call me to find out where we are.    After we move Stagecoach, we will move the things that spent the winter at Lager's.  This will be saddles, harness, and other stuff.

Let's Pack up for the New Location

WE  ARE  ON  THE  MOVE !
Are you all ready to set up the new barn?

What fun!   Dani is starting the cleaning crew on Sat., March 19th  from noon to 3pm.  Starting at Stagecoach and moving to Roland.

Saturday, March 26th is the BIG ONE.

This is so excitiing.  Please join us.
Thanks,  Kris

Wanna help set up the NEW Barn?!?!?!?!

Hey gang.

It's time! This Saturday, March 19th join Dani in the "madness" of starting the relocation of One Heart from Stagecoach to Roland. Meet at Stagecoach at noon. Dani will instruct loading out of some small, preliminary stuff, whatever you trunks and backseats will hold. Then, off to Roland you will all go. The new facility will need some light cleaning before we start putting stuff away. It would help if you would bring brooms, rags, sponges, and cleaning supplies like kitchen and bath cleaner, windex, 409, stuff like that. This entire event will be from noon till 3 pm. Email me for Dani's phone number or if you have more questions.

The BIG move will be Sat. March 26th. I will post the times later. We plan to move the ramp, lift, saddles, tack, carriages, carts, tables, toy cabinets, gates, harness, ETC. on that day. If you can round up friends, trucks, vans, trailers it will make this project pretty simple. Thanks, everbody! Kris
